# 10.7 AMP PAGE 1 10. AUDIO TRACK PARAMETERS 10.6.3 BASE Sets the base frequency of the filter. This parameter is only available if you have selected a track with a Digital voice type (Track 1–8). 10.6.4 WIDTH Sets the frequency width above the base frequency. This parameter is only available if you have selected a track with a Digital voice type (Track 1–8). The base-width filter is basically a Highpass filter and a Lowpass filter connected in series. The filters BASE and WIDTH parameters define the base-width filters frequency range. Examples of how the BASE and WIDTH parameters affect the filter frequency range: FREQUENCY AMPLITUDE Base Width FREQUENCY AMPLITUDE Base Width FREQUENCY AMPLITUDE Base Width • The base-width filter is only available for tracks with Digital voices types (Track 1–8). • With BASE set to 0, the filter functions as a low pass filter with WIDTH adjusting the fre quency range. • With WIDTH set to 127, the filter functions as a high pass filter with BASE adjusting the frequency range. • With BASE set to 0 and WIDTH set to 127 the filter does not affect the sound. 10.7 AMP PAGE 1 The AMP page controls parameters for the amplitude envelope, effects sends, panning and volume. Press [AMP] to access this parameter page. 10.7.1 ATK Attack Time sets the length of the attack phase of the amp envelope. 10.7.2 HOLD Hold Time sets the length of the hold phase of the amp envelope. Fixed Hold time values (0–126) specify the length of the hold phase, and the envelope ignores Note Off events such as Trig Length, releasing a [TRIG] key or a key on an external controller. Setting HOLD to NOTE means the hold phase will be determined by Note On and Note Off events. For more information, please see “10.2 TRIG PARAMETERS PAGE 1” on page 50. If you set HOLD to NOTE and use an external keyboard to trigger the envelope, then the sound will be sustained for as long as you press a key on the keyboard. 10.7.3 DEC Decay Time sets the length of the decay phase of the amp envelope. The decay time can be set to infinite. 10. AUDIO TRACK PARAMETERS 10.7.4 SUS Sustain Level sets the sustain level of the amp envelope. This parameter is only available if MODE on AMP Page 2 is set to ADSR. 10.7.5 REL Release Time sets the length of the release phase of the amp envelope. This parameter is only available if MODE on AMP Page 2 is set to ADSR. 10.7.6 DEL Delay Send sets the amount of the sound that is sent through to the Delay effect. For more information, please see “13.2 DELAY” on page 68. 10.7.7 REV Reverb Send sets the amount of the sound that is sent through to the Reverb effect. For more informa tion, please see “13.3 REVERB” on page 69. 10.7.8 PAN Pan positions the sound in the stereo field. The knob function is bipolar with 0 being the balanced mid point, L64 sends all sound to the left channel and R63 sends all sound to the right. 10.7.9 VOL Volume sets the volume amount of the amplifier. Unlike the track LEVEL, this parameter can be parame ter locked. Amplitude envelope with MODE set to AHD and a fixed HOLD time. AUDIO TRACK PARAMETERS Amplitude envelope with MODE set to ADSR. ‘ TIME AMPLITUDE Note On Attack Decay Sustain Note Off Release 10.8 AMP PAGE 2 The AMP page controls parameters for the amplitude envelope reset, envelope mode, and track routing. Press [AMP] twice to access this parameter page. 10.8.1 AENR Amp envelope reset sets the amp envelope behavior: ON resets the envelopes for each consecutive trig (default). OFF does not reset the envelopes for each consecutive trig. 10.8.2 MODE Envelope mode sets the amplitude envelope to function as either an AHD or an ADSR envelope. 10.8.3 ROUT Track routing sets if the track’s audio should be routed to the Analog FX block or the Main mix. For more information, please see “5.4.1 ANALOG FX BLOCK ROUTING” on page 18. A machine in Syntakt is a full-blown synth engine designed for a specific purpose. A drum- oriented machine has direct access to a decay parameter for shaping the amplitude, as this is so central to the character of a drum. Each track also has an additional amp enve lope. Selecting a drum-oriented machine will default the amp envelope to an AHD envelope with infinite decay. A typical synth machine requires a more complex envelope shape and is more prepared to be used with a keyboard to control note length etc. Therefore, when selecting one of the SY machines, the amp envelope will default to an ADSR envelope with a typical setting for release time. All Digital machines and most Analog are designed to work well with both an AHD en velope and an ADSR envelope. With AHD selected they will perform like a drum with a defined time before the decay. With ADSR selected they will perform more like a synth voice with keyboard control over note length and sustain before the release. The voice then plays until the note is released. 10.9 LFO PAGE 1 The Low-Frequency Oscillator can be used to modulate the parameters found on the audio tracks SYN, FILTER and AMP pages. Customize the low-frequency oscillator behavior, orientation, and depth on this page. This page controls the behavior of LFO 1.
