6.9 THE OUTBOX 81.4.1

6. INTERACTING WITH TONVERK > 6.9 THE OUTBOX 8 · PDF p. 24 · OS 1.4.1

The Outbox 8 is a versatile eight-channel audio/CV breakout box and USB host/device. Designed for seamless integration, it opens up new possibilities by adding analog outputs for Elektron’s Overbridge-enabled devices, while also being able to convert MIDI into CV signals such as pitch, gate, trig, linear, and clock to control your modular rig and other CV-controllable devices.

Thanks to its flexible design, the Outbox 8 can also act as an analog output expansion for many USB audio class-compliant devices, work as a USB audio interface for your computer, or function as a USB MIDI-to-CV interface for external MIDI controllers.

Outbox 8 is compatible with Elektron Overbridge-enabled units, USB class-compliant MIDI devices, as well as many USB class-compliant audio devices.

Read more about Outbox 8 on the Elektron website: https://www.elektron.se Tonverk currently works with Outbox 8, but with some limitations: High audio streaming latency and no in-device setup. You might also experience host/device connectivity issues which means you need to reconnect to Tonverk several times to ensure it connects as a device (Outbox 8 LED goes white). This can also be mitigated by using a USB-C male to USB-A female adapter, and from this use a USB-A male to USB-C male cable. All of this is being worked on for upcoming Tonverk OSes.
