17.4 PERSONALIZE
Here you can customize a number of settings to fit you personal preferences.
17.4.1 LED BACKLIGHT
Switches the key LEDs’ backlight on and off.
17.4.2 LED INTENSITY
Sets the brightness of the key LEDs and screen. Use the [LEFT]/[RIGHT] keys to change the setting
(MIN, MID, MAX).
Press and hold [SETTINGS] for a second and then press [TRIG 1–3] to set the intensity of
the key LEDs and screen. Press and hold [SETTINGS] for a second and then press [TRIG
16] to toggle the key LEDs backlight on/off.
17.4.3 REMEMBER SUBPAGE
Will, when selected, remember which PARAMETER page’s subpage you last used and access this page
again the next time you press the same [PARAMETER] key. Use the [YES] key to toggle this setting.
(ON, OFF).
17.4.4 PAGE AUTOCOPY
Will, when set to on, automatically copy already placed trigs when extending the length of a pattern. If
a pattern consists of for example two pages and the pattern length is increased to four pages, the two
additional pattern pages are then copies of the first two pattern pages.
17.5 SYSTEM
The System menu contains a number of system related settings.
17.5.1 OS UPGRADE
Use this menu option to upgrade the Tonverk OS. If there is a new version of the Tonverk operating sys­
tem, you are highly recommended to download and install the OS to keep your device up to date with the
latest functionality and fixes. You can download the OS file from the Elektron website’s Support section.
For more information about how to upgrade the Tonverk OS, please see “6.10 OS UPGRADE” on page
24.
17.5.2 SAVE DIAGNOSTICS
This option creates a diagnostics file of the machine state. The file can be used in case the device is not
functioning correctly to gather information that helps to pinpoint the problem. The file is saved in the
DIAGNOSTICS folder of the SD card, and is called “system-xxxxxxxxxx.log”.
17.5.3 DEVICE INFO
Here you can see the device’s serial number, current OS version, and current UI firmware version.

18. RESCUE MODE
18. RESCUE MODE
In this meny you find tools that can help you recover your device to a working state if you have problems
with your Tonverk. To access this menu, hold down the [FUNC] key while powering up Tonverk. To choose
the different alternatives, press the corresponding [TRIG] key.
18.1 RESET ACTIVE PROJ.
This option makes a backup of the active project and loads a new empty project.
To reset the active project, press [TRIG 1].
18.2 RECOVERY OS UPGRADE
This option lets you load a previously prepared recovery OS and replace the currently loaded OS. You can
use any Tonverk OS version as the recovery OS.
1.	 Download or locate a previously downloaded OS file you want to use as a recovery OS and name the
file OS.swu
2.	 Connect an external SD card reader to a computer and insert the Tonverk SD card in the card reader.
3.	 Copy the recovery OS file to Tonverk’s SD card and place the file at the root of the SD card’s file
structure (not inside any folder).
4.	 Safely eject the SD card reader from the computer. Please refer to your computer’s documentation on
how to perform this procedure.
5.	 Insert the Tonverk SD card back in the Tonverk and power it up while pressing the [FUNC] key.
6.	 In the RESCUE MODE menu, press [TRIG 2] to load the revocery OS.
7.	 When the recovery OS is loaded, press [YES] to return to the RESCUE MODE menu.
8.	Press [TRIG 4] to exit the RESCUE MODE menu and reboot the device using the recovery OS.
Use the OS UPGRADE option in the SETTINGS > SYSTEM menu if you wish to upgrade the device to a
standard OS.
18.3 SAVE DIAGNOSTICS
This option creates a diagnostics file of the machine state. The file can be used in case the device is not
functioning correctly to gather information that helps to pinpoint the problem. The file is saved in the DIAG­
NOSTICS folder of the SD card, and is called “systemlog-rescue.log”.
To create and save a diagnostics file, press [TRIG 3]. After the diagnostics script has run, press [YES] to
return to the RESCUE MODE menu.
18.4 EXIT (REBOOT)
Press [TRIG 4] to exit the RESCUE MODE menu and reboot the device.
