Panel stays a simulation

The Tonverk home page no longer offers to connect the hardware over Web MIDI. The link detected the device but the panel could never follow it: Tonverk transmits no knob-position CCs, and the messages it does send (transport CC broadcasts, clock) say nothing reliable about the track, page, or knob in front of you. Outbound control stays where it works - the MIDI page and the tutor's MIDI plans still send resolved CC/NRPN values to the device. Search descriptions and the AI tutor now follow the site's own section text.

变更
  • ·Removed the 'Connect hardware' control, MIDI input picker, and the inspector's 'Send to hardware' slider from the device home; the panel is a simulation you operate on the page.
  • ·Manual section and search pages describe themselves as what they are now: full section text with figures, errata, and cross-links; search with snippets.
  • ·The AI tutor reads the site's current manual text; a browser-local PDF copy is only consulted in locator mode.

v0.38.0

2026-09-04

The quiet Tonverk manual revision

Elektron replaced the Tonverk OS 1.4.0 manual five days after release without changing the OS number. The site now recognizes the August 31 PDF, uses its corrected figure positions and appendix title, and tracks the actual editorial changes: the PAGE SETUP playback parameter is SPEED rather than SCALE, KEY TRACKING no longer claims a fixed set of source pages, and INT TO MAIN offers only OFF and ON. Existing August 26 local copies are identified as outdated so they cannot be sliced with the revised document geometry.

变更
  • ·Tonverk's deterministic chunks, MIDI source metadata, figure crops, BYOM boundary map, and semantic search index now derive from Tonverk-User-Manual_ENG_OS1.4.0_260831.pdf.
  • ·The pattern-length procedure and concept playground use the corrected SPEED label in English, Chinese, and Japanese.
  • ·The KEY TRACKING and PITCH BEND parameter descriptions no longer assert that destinations are limited to the SRC/FLTR/AMP/FX/MOD pages; translated overlays match.
  • ·The translated guide imprint now records the manual's August 31 revision date.
修复
  • ·The current official PDF is accepted by the local browser reader; the superseded August 26 hash is rejected as outdated because three figure regions moved.
  • ·INT TO MAIN now exposes only OFF and ON, removing the AUTO option Elektron deleted from the revised manual.
  • ·The corrected Appendix D.2 title keeps its established route key, preventing Elektron's spacing fix from breaking indexed manual URLs.

v0.37.0

Outdated local copies say so

Bring-your-own-manual copies stored before the OS 1.4.0 update went silent when the site's data moved on: their sections are keyed by the old release's chunk filenames, so on renamed sections the reader found no local text - and the component then rendered nothing at all, hiding both the text and the way to fix it. An outdated copy now announces itself everywhere it appears: sections that still resolve show the local text under a notice ('Your local copy is the OS 1.3.3 manual - this site now documents OS 1.4.0'), sections that don't bring back the drop card with the same notice, an update hint, and a remove control, and the status strip on guide, search, and tutor pages points at the update path. Dropping the newly released PDF replaces the copy in place. The Chinese and Japanese guide translations also caught up with the manual's new imprint (OS 1.4.0, August 26, 2026).

修复
  • ·Manual pages no longer render an empty BYOM area for a local copy stored before the current OS release - the drop card returns with an explicit outdated notice, an update path, and a remove control.
  • ·The BYOM status strip warns when the stored copy predates the release the site documents, in all three languages.
  • ·The Chinese and Japanese guide translations still carried the manual's old imprint line (OS 1.3.3, May 7, 2026).

Search results that name the device

Search-facing metadata across the site now says which device a page is about. Every device sub-page - parameters, procedures, MIDI, manual sections, guides, search, tutor - carries the device name in its title ('Tonverk MIDI CC & NRPN Reference' instead of 'MIDI Control'), and descriptions describe the page for someone deciding whether to click, instead of reusing on-page UI notes. The release also fixes a real casualty of the OS 1.4.0 update: manual-section URLs embed a position number that shifted when 1.4.0 inserted its Overbridge section, which silently broke every previously indexed manual link - those URLs now redirect permanently to the section's current address, recovered by title slug (surviving renumbering) or section id.

新增
  • ·Device-qualified SEO titles and search-facing descriptions for all device sub-pages in all three languages; the site root is titled "Interactive Elektron Manuals".
  • ·Stale manual URLs redirect permanently to the section's current address: a unique title-slug match wins (it survives section renumbering, like 1.4.0's 6.8 CLASS COMPLIANT DEVICE becoming 6.9), otherwise the stable section id.
修复
  • ·Manual links indexed before OS 1.4.0 (position prefixes shifted by the new section 6.8) returned 404 since the 1.4.0 deploy - including the site's most-clicked manual pages. They now land on the right section.

v0.35.0

2026-08-26

New-in-OS badges

Everything the OS 1.4.0 manual added now announces itself. The seven new parameters, eight new procedures, and the new Overbridge section each carry a mint 1.4.0 badge - in the parameter table, the procedure list and detail pages, and on the manual section itself - and the device picker shows Tonverk's version line as 'OS 1.3.3 -> 1.4.0', so it is clear at a glance that the dataset already tracks the newest manual. The what's-new manifest is test-enforced the same way the errata list is: a badge pointing at a record that no longer exists, or one left up after the next OS bump, fails the build.

新增
  • ·A what's-new manifest (one entry per device, replaced on each OS bump) recording which parameters, procedures, and manual sections the latest OS release introduced, with invariants enforced by tests.
  • ·Mint "1.4.0" badges on new records in the parameter table, the procedure list, procedure detail pages, and new manual sections, with translated tooltips in all three languages.
  • ·The device picker highlights a freshly updated device with an "OS 1.3.3 -> 1.4.0" chip in place of the plain OS version line.

v0.34.0

2026-08-26

Tonverk OS 1.4.0

The whole Tonverk dataset now tracks the OS 1.4.0 manual. The release brings Overbridge (multitrack audio), a preset SORTING menu, pattern transpose, two new modulation macros (KEY TRACKING and VELOCITY MOD), an FX-slot swap, a rebuilt sampler source list, and new USB/audio-routing settings - all reflected here as seven new parameter records, eight new procedures, two new figures, and refreshed chunks, MIDI map, and search index. Elektron also fixed one of our documented errata: the chapter 19 key table no longer swaps C#1/D#1 for memorize/recall, which confirms the panel-print reading this site shipped. Two freshly misnumbered headings and one copy-paste error take its place in the errata list.

新增
  • ·Seven parameter records from the 1.4.0 manual: KEY TRACKING and VELOCITY MOD modulation macros (TRACK SETUP > TRIG), SWAP FX1/FX2 (TRACK SETUP > FX), TRACK/BUS/SEND/MIX CHANNEL (MIDI CONFIG), INT TO MAIN and PRE/POST FADER (AUDIO ROUTING), and USB CONFIG (SYSTEM), with Chinese and Japanese translations.
  • ·Eight procedures for the new features: pattern transpose, parameter-page recall, copying and clearing patterns without leaving the active one, preset filtering by category/tags/search, clearing a modulation macro page, swapping the FX slots, and enabling Overbridge - translated into Chinese and Japanese.
  • ·Two figures from the new preset SORTING menu (section 9.1).
  • ·Errata: the 1.4.0 manual prints "6.13.3" for the Sample browser's WAVETABLES subsection (really 6.12.3) and "14.3.5" for AUDIO ROUTING's PRE/POST FADER (really 17.3.5), and describes the PITCH BEND macro with AFTERTOUCH's wording.
变更
  • ·All 146 manual chunks, the MIDI map, figures, and the BYOM boundary map are regenerated from Tonverk-User-Manual_ENG_OS1.4.0_260826.pdf; the search index is rebuilt (1,991 vectors).
  • ·The backup, OS-upgrade, and sample-browser procedures follow the renumbered sections 6.10-6.12 (Overbridge is the new 6.8).
  • ·The sampling procedure and its translations use the renamed THRES parameter (the manual's own 16.2 steps still print THR).
  • ·The aftertouch, mod-wheel, and breath-controller macro descriptions reference KEY TRACKING, matching the 1.4.0 wording.
修复
  • ·Removed the C#1/D#1 memorize/recall erratum - Elektron corrected chapter 19 in the 1.4.0 manual, matching the panel print this site treated as authoritative.
  • ·Pipeline: stage 01 now clears stale chunk files before writing, so a release that renumbers sections can no longer strand orphan chunks (caught by validator V5 during this update).

v0.33.0

2026-08-22

The course's second draft is complete

All fifteen lessons of Synthesis Basics now stand at second-draft depth. Lessons 7 through 15 — delay and reverb, drive and compression, the subtractive chain, FM, sampling, granular, the sequencer mindset, parameter locks and conditions, and the closing workflow — were rewritten in all three languages at two and a half to four times their old length, with concrete numbers throughout and fifteen new diagrams grounded in the toys' own constants. The rewrite also fact-checked the old text against the compiled data and the manuals, and that turned up more than course fixes: both the Digitone II and Digitakt II manuals print the TRACK LENGTH range as 2/16 to 64/64 in their key-combinations chapters — the Syntakt value — while their own sequencer chapters say 2/16 to 128/128. Those are now documented manual errata #7 and #8, the first found outside the Tonverk, and the affected procedures teach the correct range.

新增
  • ·Fifteen course diagrams across lessons 7–15: echo decay under feedback, echoes versus reverb density, the tanh transfer curve, a compressor's input/output law, the subtractive chain, FM's two-operator block and sideband spectra, repitch versus stretch, grain-window anatomy and spray, pattern anatomy, polymeter drift, a parameter-lock lane, condition cycles, and the design loop.
  • ·Manual errata #7 and #8: the Digitone II §16 and Digitakt II §17 key-combinations chapters print the Syntakt TRACK LENGTH range (2/16–64/64); the correct range on both devices is 2/16–128/128. Both sections now carry the correction, and the set-track-length procedures were fixed in English, Chinese, and Japanese.
变更
  • ·Lessons 7–15 rewritten at second-draft depth in en/zh/ja. Along the way: hardware trig-condition semantics untangled from the teaching widget (1ST fires once per pattern; every-other-cycle is the A:B form 1:2), FM gains the negative-frequency fold the first draft skipped, a sequencer page is correctly sixteen steps, and Digitakt II's REPITCH machine is documented as having no TUNE knob.

v0.32.0

2026-08-21

The tutor reads your copy

Three upgrades that build on the local manual. First, the AI tutor: when your own official PDF is loaded, the tutor's manual tools regain their full power — search returns real quoted snippets and sections return their complete text, all from your copy, all inside your browser, with the usual § citations and errata warnings. Without a local copy, nothing changes: the tutor locates sections and points to the official PDF pages, as before. Second, you can now discover the local reader where you actually start: the device home, the Getting Started hub, and the tutor each carry a one-line status strip that invites you to load your PDF — or shows which copy you are reading. Third, the synthesis course's second draft continues: filters, the filter envelope, and LFOs are rewritten at twice the depth with five new diagrams — real filter curves with resonance peaks in decibels, 12 versus 24 dB per octave side by side, the cutoff riding an ADSR contour, LFO shapes mapped to what they do to pitch and volume, and a rate scale that ties hertz to tempo divisions.

新增
  • ·Tutor local grounding: with a local copy loaded, search_manual returns real text snippets and read_manual_section returns full section text from your own PDF — browser-only, cited by §, errata-corrected. Behavior without a local copy is unchanged.
  • ·BYOM status strip on the device home, Getting Started hub, and tutor page: an invitation to load your PDF, or the OS version of the copy you are reading.
  • ·Five course diagrams: filter shapes with a resonance peak, slope comparison, filter-envelope motion, LFO shape-to-destination grid, and an LFO rate scale from 0.05 Hz to audio rate.
变更
  • ·Lessons 4–6 (filters, filter envelope, LFOs) rewritten in all three languages at roughly 2.5× depth with concrete numbers throughout; two v1 factual slips corrected (the base-width filter exists on all four devices; Syntakt has no KEY.T).
  • ·Course figures now inherit the theme's text color — diagram labels in lessons 1–3 were invisible on the dark theme.

v0.31.0

2026-08-19

Your PDF now brings the figures

The local reader gains the manual's figures. Every figure is cut from your own PDF, in your browser: the boundary map now ships each figure's clip rectangle (coordinates are facts, like page numbers), and the reader renders that page region to a small local image — 96 figures on the Tonverk come to about 220 KB. The same rectangles clean up the text: labels that live inside a mapped diagram no longer flatten into the section prose as word soup. And because your PDF is kept locally, upgrades are silent — when the site ships a newer boundary map, the reader re-parses your stored copy by itself; there is nothing to drop again. As before, none of this touches the network: the file, the text, and the rendered figures never leave your browser.

新增
  • ·Figure rendering in the local reader: page-region crops from your own PDF, stored as WebP in your browser, laid out like the printed manual with page-number captions.
  • ·Diagram-text exclusion: text items inside a mapped figure's rectangle are dropped before lines are assembled, so plot labels no longer pollute the section text.
  • ·Silent map upgrades: a local copy made under an older boundary map re-parses automatically from the stored PDF on the next visit.
变更
  • ·Boundary maps are at version 2: each of the 475 figures across the four devices now carries its clip rectangle and page dimensions, validated against the source PDFs by the pipeline.

v0.30.0

2026-08-19

Bring your own manual

The full manual reader returns — powered by your own copy. Download the official PDF from Elektron, drop it on any manual page, and the browser parses it right there: every section becomes readable full text again, and manual search gets its quoted snippets back. Nothing is uploaded or seen by the site — parsing, storage, and search all happen in your browser, and the copy persists on your device until you remove it. The site ships only the facts that make this possible: section boundaries, printed headings, page ranges, and the official PDFs' checksums, so a dropped file is verified to be exactly the manual version this site's data tracks; a wrong device or an unknown revision is told apart and turned away with a pointer to the official download. Page numbers and running chapter headers are stripped from the text; diagrams and tables come through as plain text for now — figures are the next phase.

新增
  • ·Drop-your-PDF card on every manual section page: SHA-256 exact-version verification, per-page parse progress, and clear wrong-device / unknown-version messages in all three languages.
  • ·Local full-text reading: sections sliced from your PDF render with the reader's typography, key-token deep links to the panel twin, and a LOCAL badge with one-click removal.
  • ·Local full-text search: quoted snippets from your own copy appear above the locate-mode results.
  • ·Pipeline stage 08: per-device boundary maps — section boundaries, printed headings, page ranges, and official-PDF checksums, facts only — validated against the chunk index by the new S15 check and a mirroring test suite.

v0.29.0

2026-08-19

The manual reader becomes a locator

Knobwerk no longer hosts the manual's text and figures. Instead, every manual section page is now a locator: the section's title and breadcrumb, its exact page range in Elektron's official PDF, a verified download link for the device, and previous/next navigation that keeps the whole manual tree walkable. Search works the same way — it finds the right section and hands you the page number instead of quoting the text. The Quickstart guides are rewritten from scratch in our own words: the same first-hour path (what the machine is, hooking it up, first sounds), every fact checked against the manual and §-cited, with one short official line quoted per device. The documented errata stay on their sections — those were always this project's own findings.

新增
  • ·Section locator cards on every manual page: the official PDF's page range, a per-device verified download link on elektron.se, and previous/next section navigation.
  • ·Quickstart guides rewritten as original text for all four devices — 30 sections in three languages, facts cross-checked against the compiled manual and the procedure records, each section citing its § and PDF pages.
  • ·An anti-reproduction test: no eight-word run of the new Quickstart text may match the manual, and the one short quoted line per device must match it exactly.
变更
  • ·Manual search runs again, in locate mode: results show section, breadcrumb, and PDF pages — the text itself lives in the official PDF.
  • ·The manual APIs return section metadata (title, pages, prev/next navigation) instead of refusing with an error, so LLM agents can still navigate the manual's structure.
  • ·All related notices rewritten in a calm product voice: what the site does — index, cross-reference, locate — with no talk of outages.

v0.28.0

2026-08-19

Lessons with real depth, and real diagrams

The synthesis course starts its second draft. The first three lessons are rewritten to a new standard — roughly twice the depth, concrete numbers everywhere (hearing ranges, typical envelope times, frequency bands), and plainer sentences — and they gain a new kind of teaching material: static diagrams. Six hand-drawn SVG figures now sit alongside the interactive toys: wave anatomy, the octave ladder, the four waveform recipes with their spectra, harmonics summing into a square, ADSR anatomy, and pluck-versus-pad contours. The remaining twelve lessons get the same treatment next.

新增
  • ·Static teaching figures in lessons: theme-aware SVG diagrams with language-neutral labels and translated captions, starting with six figures across lessons 1–3.
  • ·A clear note on the About page (and in the machine-readable site metadata): this project is unrelated to any musician performing under the same name.
变更
  • ·Lessons 1–3 rewritten in all three languages: deeper explanations with concrete numbers and ranges, two paragraphs per concept, and cleaner prose.

v0.27.0

2026-08-18

The course is complete: fifteen lessons, twelve instruments

Synthesis Basics reaches its final form. The synthesis-methods module gives each device its home-game lesson — a playable mini synth for the full subtractive chain, an FM playground that overlays predicted sidebands on the real spectrum (Digitone II's world), a sampler that teaches repitch vs stretch with one slider and two machines (Digitakt II's lineup), and a granular cloud whose four handles map one-to-one onto Tonverk's GRAINER. The closing module teaches the Elektron grammar itself: a two-track step sequencer you edit while it runs, then parameter locks, probability, and trig conditions — the ideas that make sixteen steps feel alive. A final workflow lesson folds all fifteen into one repeatable design loop.

新增
  • ·Lesson 9 — Subtractive synthesis: a complete playable mono synth (osc, filter + filter envelope, amp ADSR, LFO) with bass/lead/pad presets.
  • ·Lesson 10 — FM synthesis: two sine waves, ratio snapping with fine detune for bells, and live predicted-sideband markers over the actual spectrum.
  • ·Lesson 11 — Sampling: one melodic loop, one pitch slider, two machines — repitch couples pitch to time, stretch cuts the chain; the playhead shows the difference.
  • ·Lesson 12 — Granular synthesis: a grain cloud with position, size, density, and spray — and a visible stream of grains being fired.
  • ·Lesson 13 — The sequencer mindset: two tracks, sixteen steps, edited while the loop runs.
  • ·Lesson 14 — Parameter locks and conditions: select a step, lock its tune, roll probability dice, park trigs on 1st/2nd cycles — the Elektron soul as a toy.
  • ·Lesson 15 — The workflow: the whole course condensed into one design loop, ending where lesson 1 began.
  • ·Device bridges throughout: Digitone II's FM TONE operators, Digitakt II's ONESHOT/REPITCH/STRETCH/WERP lineup, Tonverk's GRAINER and SINGLE PLAYER, and the TRIG-page VEL/PROB row on all four.

v0.26.0

2026-08-18

Effects intuition: space, energy, density

Two new lessons complete the effects module of the synthesis course. Delay and reverb are taught as the same raw material — copies of the sound, played late — with a pluck that leaves real silence for the echoes to live in. Drive and compression untangle the two effects everyone confuses: one changes tone, the other changes dynamics, and a live gain-reduction meter shows the compressor breathe with every kick. Lesson 7 was reworked after a real beginner test: the wet/dry concept now comes first, and the source leaves room to actually hear what each knob changes.

新增
  • ·Lesson 7 — Delay and reverb: a feedback delay and a convolution reverb on a sparse, self-repeating pluck; count the echoes, then notice you cannot count a room.
  • ·Lesson 8 — Drive and compression: an internal kick-and-hat groove through a tanh drive stage and a compressor, each with its own click-free bypass for honest A/B listening, plus a live gain-reduction meter.
  • ·Device bridges for both lessons: DELAY/REVERB pages on the Digi boxes, Tonverk's DAISY DELAY, SUPERVOID REVERB, DEGRADER and COMPRESSOR FX machines, Syntakt's analog drive, and the FX-page bit reduction and COMP pages.
修复
  • ·Lesson 7 after owner testing: the pluck now retrigs every 1.7 s instead of 0.55 s so echo trains and reverb tails are no longer masked by the next note; a new opening paragraph teaches wet/dry before any other knob; the delay prose was rewritten in plain two-knob language; default wet levels raised so both effects are audible immediately.

v0.25.0

2026-08-18

Synthesis Basics: hear it, then find it on your device

A new interactive course teaches electronic sound from zero — no device needed, every lesson makes sound right in the browser. Six lessons so far: pitch/loudness/timbre, waveforms and harmonics, envelopes, filters, the filter envelope, and LFOs. What no other synth course can do: every lesson ends by landing its concept on your actual hardware, deep-linking the exact parameter on all four devices' interactive panels. Trilingual from day one.

新增
  • ·Six-lesson interactive synthesis course at /synthesis, entered from every device's Getting Started page.
  • ·Five sound toys built on the Web Audio API: an oscillator playground with live spectrum and scope, a draggable ADSR envelope you can hold and play (with an amp/filter target switch), a filter playground that overlays the filter's own response curve on the output spectrum, and an LFO playground where one destination switch turns the same wobble into vibrato, tremolo, or wah.
  • ·Device bridge cards in every lesson: one click opens the concept's parameter on the Tonverk, Digitone II, Syntakt, or Digitakt II panel twin — NOTE, WAVE morphs, AMP envelopes, FLTR FREQ/RESO/ENV, LFO destinations, and Digitakt II's base-width filter.
  • ·All lesson prose, widget labels, and captions ship in English, Chinese, and Japanese — enforced by tests, like the rest of the catalog.
修复
  • ·The course's shared audio engine now survives dev-server hot reloads without leaking AudioContexts, and every widget's output was verified by direct signal measurement at the master bus.

v0.24.0

2026-08-18

Every parameter, every language

The translation checkerboard is filled: all four devices now have complete Chinese and Japanese parameter descriptions — 2,436 translations in total across the catalog. Device-facing tokens (parameter names, key combos, machine and page names) stay in English exactly as they appear on the hardware, so what you read matches what the screen says. The beta badge also changed meaning: it now marks devices not yet verified against a physical unit (all data depth is equal across the four), so only Tonverk goes without one.

新增
  • ·Digitone II: Chinese and Japanese descriptions for all 300 parameters.
  • ·Syntakt: Chinese descriptions for all 465 parameters (Japanese shipped earlier).
  • ·Digitakt II: Japanese descriptions for all 260 parameters (Chinese shipped earlier).
  • ·Semantic search indexes rebuilt for all three devices with the new translations, so Chinese and Japanese queries can match the translated descriptions.
变更
  • ·Beta badge semantics: it now means "not yet hardware-verified" rather than "less complete" — Digitone II, Syntakt, and Digitakt II wear it; the machine-readable site index still lists every device in full.

v0.23.0

2026-08-18

Syntakt and Digitakt II graduate

The beta badges come off. Both devices now carry the same depth stack as Tonverk and Digitone II — figures, semantic search, an interactive digital twin, and (new in this release) a golden retrieval set: a hand-verified exam of realistic queries that measures whether search actually finds the right manual section, procedure, and parameter. Their scores now gate every future change in CI, so search quality on all four devices can only be improved, never silently broken.

新增
  • ·Golden retrieval sets for Syntakt (46 queries) and Digitakt II (44) — exact manual terms, reworded intents, and Chinese/Japanese phrasings, each with hand-verified correct answers drawn from the manual itself.
  • ·CI regression gates for both devices' search quality, with baseline floors that tolerate exactly one missed query before failing the build.
变更
  • ·Syntakt and Digitakt II lose their beta badges everywhere — device picker, device switcher, and the machine-readable site index now list all four devices as full-depth.

v0.22.0

2026-08-17

Every device gets its twin

The interactive panel twin — the clickable hardware simulation that Tonverk and Digitone II ship with — now runs on Syntakt and Digitakt II too. Press the panel keys, cycle the parameter pages, open the machine menu, and the simulated screen shows exactly what the compiled manual data says it should. Syntakt's FX track and its voice-type machine rules made this the deepest modeling work since the original twin.

新增
  • ·Syntakt digital twin: all five parameter-page keys with their real page cycles, the [FX] key selecting the FX track (with its DRIVE page, filter, amp, and LFOs), and the machine menu offering only what each track's voice type accepts — digital machines on tracks 1–8, analog drum on 9–11, analog cymbal on 12, exactly as Appendix A scopes them. DELAY, REVERB, and the mixer open behind [FUNC] combos, matching the hardware.
  • ·Digitakt II digital twin: TRIG/SRC/FLTR/AMP/FX/MOD pages, the shared MACHINE menu for SRC and FLTR machines, and the MIDI machine flipping a track to its MIDI pages — same interaction grammar as the Digitone II twin.
  • ·Tracks now boot with the machines the manual implies: each Syntakt track starts on the first machine its voice type allows (BD MODERN / BD HARD / CH CLASSIC), and Digitakt II starts on ONESHOT — which its manual states outright is the default.
变更
  • ·Deep links from search and the tutor now respect machine-to-track rules: jumping to an analog machine's parameter opens it on a track that can actually host that machine instead of always track 1.

v0.21.0

2026-08-17

The beta devices catch up

Syntakt and Digitakt II close most of the gap to the flagship devices: manual figures and semantic search land for both. And a resolution sweep built for that work caught a real bug on a graduated device — Digitone II's MIDI page had been showing wrong CC numbers for whole parameter pages, which is now fixed and regression-tested across all three Digi-series devices.

新增
  • ·Manual figures for the beta devices: 113 across Digitakt II's sections and 138 across Syntakt's, extracted by the same pipeline stage that covered Tonverk and Digitone II — every device now has its screens and diagrams.
  • ·Semantic search for Syntakt and Digitakt II: both devices get an embeddings index (1,436 and 1,088 vectors), so paraphrased and cross-lingual queries work on all four devices once the in-browser model is enabled.
  • ·A MIDI-resolution sweep harness (scripts/check-midi.ts) that prints every parameter's resolved address for any Digi-series device, plus a regression test suite pinning the fixed addresses.
修复
  • ·Digitone II MIDI addressing: the name lookup ignored which appendix table a row came from, so same-named rows leaked across sections — the AMP envelope showed the filter's CC 20–23 instead of 84–88, LFO 2/3 showed LFO 1's numbers, and chorus, compressor, external-mixer, and arpeggiator parameters were wrong or missing. Resolution is now scoped per parameter page, matching the appendix's own structure.
  • ·Syntakt: the FX track's trig LEN and the MIDI tracks' NOT1/VEL/LEN now resolve to their Appendix B rows (CC 5/3/4/5); parameters the appendix genuinely doesn't address stay explicitly unmapped.
  • ·Digitakt II and Digitone II: the retrig page's LEN no longer claims CC 5 — that row belongs to the trig-page LEN; retrig length has no MIDI address in the manual.
  • ·Documented a manual erratum found during the sweep: Digitone II's appendix prints CC 86 for both AMP Decay and AMP Sustain (CC 87 unused) — kept verbatim in the data, flagged in the audit notes.

v0.20.0

2026-08-16

The manual gets its pictures back

Until now the manual pages carried only the PDF's words — every screen illustration, panel drawing, and signal-flow diagram was left behind. A new pipeline stage extracts them straight from the official PDFs and embeds them where they belong: 96 figures across Tonverk's sections and 128 across Digitone II's, each captioned with its source page.

新增
  • ·Manual figures: screen illustrations, the front/rear panel drawings, and the sound-architecture diagrams now render on their manual pages — 224 figures across Tonverk (53 sections) and Digitone II (57 sections), lazy-loaded with layout-shift-free sizing and a PDF page caption on each.
  • ·A new deterministic pipeline stage (07) extracts figures using the PDF's own clip geometry — vector diagrams and pixel screens both come out whole — and a new validator check guarantees every indexed figure exists on disk with no orphans.
  • ·Syntakt and Digitakt II PDFs probed and confirmed compatible; their figures land with a future re-run.

v0.19.2

2026-08-16

The manual reads like a manual again

The manual pages were showing the PDF's raw text layer — accurate words in a monospace dump, with the print edition's bold sub-headings collapsed into bare lines and every typeset line break frozen in place. A typography pass now parses the structure back out and typesets it as prose, guarded by a zero-loss invariant: for every section of every device, the typeset output reproduces the source text character for character.

变更
  • ·Manual pages typeset parameter names as sub-headings, numbered instructions as lists, bullet runs as lists, and value tables as definition lines; hard line-wraps are healed so paragraphs reflow responsively. Verified across all 534 sections of the four devices with a character-level no-loss test.
  • ·Every § citation across the site now links to its manual page: the procedure player's source line, every parameters-table row, and the tutor's inline procedure cards.
  • ·Key-token links to the live panel survive the new typesetting everywhere (921 Tonverk + 536 Digitone II links, regression-checked).

v0.19.1

2026-08-16

Review day

An external code review went under the microscope: every claim was verified against the code before acting. Eight fixes shipped — the most visible one being that manual pages now show only their own section's text instead of the page-sharing spillover from neighboring sections.

变更
  • ·The retrieval regression gate now covers Digitone II with its own measured floors — previously only Tonverk was gated.
  • ·npm run validate now runs both validators across every device with a cross-platform Python launcher, and requirements.txt pins the pipeline dependencies.
  • ·README rewritten to describe the project as it is, not as it was before the web app existed.
修复
  • ·Manual reader pages render the cleaned section text (what search and the AI tutor already used) — the spillover from sections sharing the same PDF page is gone, and so is the disclaimer that apologized for it.
  • ·MIDI plan cards: leaving the page while a ramp was running could keep sending MIDI to the hardware — timers are now reliably cancelled on unmount, and a Cancel button stops a sweep mid-flight.
  • ·MIDI plans validate every model-supplied number at runtime (track range, BPM, ramp lengths, 0–127 values, item cap) before anything reaches the preview; a ramp with a broken duration can no longer spin forever.
  • ·The search page no longer crashes on repeated query parameters (?q=a&q=b) and caps query length like the API does.
  • ·Device state-change listeners no longer overwrite each other when several MIDI surfaces are open.

v0.19.0

2026-08-16

Where does everything live? — the deep-dive trilogy is complete

The flagship deep dive maps the machine's most invisible system: the SD card, the active project, and the one copy rule that explains every save-related surprise. It ships with a new interactive data map, in three languages — and, true to form, writing it uncovered the manual's newest documented contradiction.

新增
  • ·"Where does everything live?" (一切都存在哪里? / すべてはどこに住んでいるのか): the card / the active project / one pattern, the copy rule in the manual's own words, three safety nets at three scales, and the fine print of CLEAR, levels, and instruments. Two experiments: prove the copy rule, and break a pattern on purpose — then get it back twice.
  • ·Where data lives — a new interactive map (also on the Concepts page): click any box to see what is stored there, when it is written to the card, and its manual sections; the preset-count box carries the erratum inline.
  • ·Documented erratum #7, found while writing the article: §5.2.3 says a pattern holds up to 12 presets, §9 says 16 — the strict definition supports 12. The AI tutor and the manual pages now flag it.
  • ·Hardware checklist: does unsaved work survive a power cycle? §5.2.1 implies yes but never says it — flagged for verification on the owner's device.
修复
  • ·The learning path's save-project step claimed edits live in "volatile memory" — stronger than the manual supports. It now teaches the documented model: the active working state, replaced by LOAD, rewound by RELOAD, written to the card by SAVE.

v0.18.1

2026-08-15

The guide becomes a hub

The Get Started page no longer mixes the manual's chapters with this site's own material. The manual's quick-start content moved to its own page behind a single, clearly-badged entrance — so what comes from Elektron and what this project wrote is visible at a glance.

变更
  • ·Get Started is now a hub of four entrances: Manual quick start (badged "official manual"), Deep dives, Learning paths, and Concepts.
  • ·The manual's introduction and QUICK START chapters live at their own page, guide/quickstart, with the same playable panel demos — and procedure pages opened from there return there.
  • ·Every page under the hub — quick start, deep dives, learning paths, concepts — now carries a back-to-hub link at the top.

v0.18.0

2026-08-15

Why Subtracks? — the second deep dive

One track that holds eight samples, eight sequencer lanes, and a hidden ninth. The second deep dive explains the machine that answers "why should a drum kit cost eight tracks?" — shipped in English, Chinese, and Japanese on day one, with three hands-on experiments and the supertrack finally explained in the manual's own words.

新增
  • ·"Why Subtracks?" (为什么要有 Subtracks? / なぜ Subtracks なのか): the groovebox-inside-the-groovebox model, one sequencer lane per sample, STEP EDIT as the per-step overview, why the supertrack exists (the manual states the reason — we quote it), choke groups, and the fine print of what a subtrack can't do. Three experiments: sequence two drums apart, make the reverb arrive on cue from the supertrack, and choke the open hat.
  • ·The official-tutorial fact-check retired two more "video-only" claims into manual citations (supertrack double-press and the per-subtrack sample browser are both in Appendix A.2.3) — the deep-dive series keeps proving the manual documents more than anyone reads.
变更
  • ·Device home pages now carry a keyword-rich title ("Tonverk Interactive Manual" / "Tonverk 互动说明书" / "Tonverk インタラクティブマニュアル") for search engines.
  • ·The header on the device picker and project pages slimmed down to About only — release notes moved behind the About page's version link, and feedback lives inside the devices. Fixes the wrapped header on narrow phones.

v0.17.1

2026-08-15

路由的设计哲学 — ルーティングの設計哲学

The first deep dive now reads natively in Chinese and Japanese: every paragraph, callout, and experiment of "The routing philosophy" is hand-translated, with the § citations still linking to the manual and every device token untouched — exactly the discipline the rest of the site follows.

新增
  • ·Chinese and Japanese translations of "The routing philosophy" — the full article: intro, four track types, the switch-and-faucets grammar, both twin experiments, the external-pedal loop, and the fine print. Titles localize everywhere they appear: the deep-dives index, the article page, and the procedure pages' back links.
  • ·An overlay layer for deep dives (same pattern as lessons): translations live beside the canonical English and fall back gracefully, and the test suite now verifies overlay alignment — block ids, list and step counts, and that every § citation in a translation still resolves to a real manual section.

v0.17.0

2026-08-15

The tutor learns our own lessons

The AI tutor was the last feature without a measured baseline — so we measured it (78.6%), fixed what the numbers exposed, and measured again (85.7%). The headline: the tutor now corrects the manual's documented misprints instead of repeating them, cites a section for every claim, and can read the deep-dive articles — with their manual/official-tutorial/interpretation source labels intact.

新增
  • ·Errata awareness: when a search hit, manual section, or parameter carries a documented erratum, the tutor sees the correction note and warns you about the misprint. Both erratum-trap eval questions went from failing (3/7) to perfect (7/7).
  • ·Deep-dive access: the tutor can read the long-form articles and keeps their source discipline — manual facts cited as §, official-tutorial facts attributed to Elektron's videos, interpretations presented as interpretation.
  • ·Eight new evaluation questions: routing philosophy, firmware-vs-manual behavior, external-controller capture, and more Chinese/Japanese coverage (20 → 28).
变更
  • ·Citations are now mandatory: every tool result names its section (cite_as), and the ground rules treat a manual-grounded answer without § citations as incomplete. Citations were the single largest deficit in the baseline.
  • ·CC/NRPN questions resolve through the parameter database and the MIDI-plan preview — never by searching appendix text for numbers.
  • ·The tool loop got a hard budget: at the round cap the tutor must synthesize a final answer from what it gathered (previously it could be cut off mid-investigation, or loop past the cap entirely).
  • ·Long chats got cheaper: tool payloads from already-answered questions are pruned from requests, and Anthropic keys benefit from prompt caching on the system prompt and tool definitions.

v0.16.4

2026-08-15

The fine print

A data-reuse statement now says plainly what this project owns and what it doesn't: the hand-authored layers are original work (reuse with attribution and a link), while the compiled reference data originates from Elektron's manuals — no copyright claimed over Elektron's content. Alongside it, the public API endpoints gained a rate limit against bulk scraping; normal use and AI assistants are unaffected.

新增
  • ·About page: a "Data reuse" section in English, Chinese, and Japanese — deep dives, learning paths, translations, and the owner's story are original work of this project; the compiled manual data is Elektron's content restructured, and the project claims no rights over it.
  • ·llms.txt: a one-line reuse note pointing at the full statement, so AI assistants reading the site map see the terms too.

v0.16.3

2026-08-14

Readable by machines

This site's charter has always been "LLM-usable" — now it says so at the front door. AI assistants that browse the web get a curated map at /llms.txt, a complete one at /llms-full.txt, and structured data that tells search engines exactly what each page is.

新增
  • ·/llms.txt — a curated, LLM-readable site map: the four devices with OS versions, Tonverk's and Digitone II's key surfaces, data provenance, and the public JSON API endpoints (search, sections, chunk). All counts are read live from the compiled data, so the map can't go stale.
  • ·/llms-full.txt — the complete enumeration for AI agents: every manual section (275 across Tonverk and Digitone II), every playable procedure with its § source citation (209), and every deep dive.
  • ·Structured data (JSON-LD): the site as WebSite, every procedure page as HowTo with its localized steps mirrored 1:1, and deep-dive articles as TechArticle. Manual-text pages deliberately carry no authorship markup — that text is Elektron's, and the markup respects it by omission.

v0.16.2

2026-08-14

The recovered procedures speak Chinese and Japanese

The six procedures recovered by the coverage audit are now fully translated, and the audit spirit turned inward: it found a blind spot in our own staleness gate and closed it.

新增
  • ·Chinese and Japanese translations for all six recovered procedures (routing, setup, MIDI tracks, choke groups, sample and wavetable loading) — procedure translation coverage is back to 124 of 124. The translations are also indexed for cross-lingual search.
变更
  • ·The header wordmark is now simply "Knobwerk" — the tagline moved out of the way.
修复
  • ·The search-index staleness gate now watches the translation overlays too. Overlay rows have always been embedded for cross-lingual search, but editing an overlay never tripped the checksum — a stale index could ship silently. Both sides of the shared checksum recipe now include the overlay files.
  • ·About page: the "Why this exists" story is now set off as a quotation block, so the first-person voice reads apart from the documentation around it.

v0.16.1

2026-08-14

Every numbered procedure accounted for — plus the story behind the project

Writing the routing deep dive caught a numbered procedure in the manual that had never become a playable record. So we swept the entire manual: every numbered step-list is now either extracted, or explicitly accounted for. Six procedures were recovered — including the ROUTING menu itself. And the About page now tells the story of why this project exists, in its maker's own words.

新增
  • ·Six recovered procedures, now playable on the panel: Route a track (ROUTING menu), Set up and start Tonverk, Use a track as a MIDI track, Assign subtracks to a choke group, Load a sample into a Player slot, and Load a wavetable (Wavefinder). 124 procedures total.
  • ·A coverage audit tool that scans the manual for numbered step-lists and cross-references the extracted procedures — of 38 lists found, 32 were covered, 6 are now extracted, and 6 are documented as reprints of procedures already extracted from their canonical chapters (the QUICK START chapter) or connector legends. Zero unaccounted.
  • ·About page: "Why this exists" — the owner's own story, from a beast on a desk to this manual, in English, Chinese, and Japanese.
变更
  • ·Header navigation: the reading surfaces (Guide, Procedures, Parameters, Search) plus About and Feedback are now always visible on device pages, while MIDI, the AI tutor, and Release Notes moved into "More". On the device picker and project pages the More menu is gone — About, Release Notes, and Feedback are plain header links.

v0.16.0

2026-08-14

Deep dives: The routing philosophy

A new long-form layer, inspired by the community's beloved 'Merlin' guides: articles that explain why the machine is shaped the way it is, not just what the buttons do. The first piece decodes Tonverk's 16-track architecture — why only half the tracks make sound, and why the silent half is the point.

新增
  • ·Deep dives section (Guide → Deep dives): long reads with strict source discipline — every manual claim links to its § section (48 linked citations in the first piece), details that only appear in Elektron's official video tutorials are labeled as such, and this project's own interpretations are marked too. You always know which kind of claim you are reading.
  • ·"The routing philosophy": the four track types read as a sequenced mixing console, the ROUT-switch vs SND-faucet grammar, the live signal-flow map embedded mid-article, and three hands-on experiments — hear what a bus is, p-lock a step's routing destination, and graft an external pedal into the console as a send effect.
  • ·A guard test that re-validates every §-citation in every deep dive against the compiled manual chunks on each CI run — articles cannot silently drift from the source.

v0.15.1

2026-08-13

Hardware control from the panel — verified on a real Tonverk

First physical-device verification session. The verdict: the Tonverk receives CC/NRPN perfectly (confirmed live — panel to hardware works end-to-end) but transmits no parameter CCs, so the mirror direction flips: select any parameter on the interactive panel and drive the real device with a slider.

新增
  • ·Send-to-hardware slider in the panel inspector: with a Tonverk connected, selecting a parameter shows its resolved CC/NRPN address and a live value slider — move it and the hardware follows instantly. Verified on the device: filter parameters moved on the Tonverk's own screen.
  • ·Documented hardware verdict: the Tonverk does not transmit knob CCs (Appendix D addressing is receive-only; there is no PARAM OUTPUT setting, unlike the Digi series). The connect flow and UI copy now say so honestly.
修复
  • ·A React hydration mismatch on the device home (the hardware-connect button rendered differently on server and client).

v0.15.0

2026-08-09

The manual follows your hands

Connect a Tonverk over USB and the interactive panel becomes a live mirror: turn any knob on the hardware and the on-screen panel highlights it, jumps to its page, and explains the parameter — with the value you're dialing shown in real time.

新增
  • ·Hardware link (Tonverk, Chrome/Edge): a "Connect hardware" button on the interactive panel. Once connected, turning a knob on the device makes the twin follow — track, page, knob slot, inspector card, and the live CC value. "What did I just touch?" now answers itself. The reverse address chain is unit-tested against the same Appendix-D tables the MIDI page sends with, including the documented CC 31 label erratum.

v0.14.0

2026-08-09

Digitone II graduates: live panel, semantic search, out of beta

The Digitone II gets the full depth treatment — an interactive panel you can operate (FM machine menus included), semantic + cross-lingual search, and a measured retrieval baseline. Its beta badge is gone.

新增
  • ·Digitone II interactive panel: click through TRIG/SYN/FLTR/AMP/MOD pages (SYN page count follows the machine — 4 pages of FM TONE operators, 3 of WAVETONE…), open the MACHINE menu with FUNC+SYN and assign any of the five SYN machines, flip a track to MIDI, and jump straight to any parameter from search. Every behavior is cited to the manual section that documents it.
  • ·Digitone II semantic search: the same browser-local model now covers DN2 (881 vectors including the Chinese parameter translations) — Chinese/Japanese queries find the right section over 80% of the time in the top 3.
  • ·FUNC+FX and FUNC+MOD open the Send FX and Mixer parameter screens (DELAY and COMP first pages).
变更
  • ·Digitone II is no longer marked beta — it now matches the Tonverk's depth. Syntakt and Digitakt II keep their badges for now.

v0.13.0

2026-08-09

中文・日本語 everywhere, and the manual talks to the panel

Every Tonverk parameter description now reads natively in Chinese and Japanese, lessons are fully localized, and every key name printed in the manual text is now a link that lights up that key on the interactive panel.

新增
  • ·All 393 Tonverk parameter descriptions translated into Chinese and Japanese — the parameter table, panel inspector, and tutor cards now read natively (device tokens stay English, as printed on the hardware). The translations are also indexed for semantic search, so Chinese/Japanese parameter queries improve too.
  • ·Learning-path lessons fully localized into Chinese and Japanese (all 3 lessons, 24 steps).
  • ·Manual reader → panel: key names printed in the manual ([FUNC], [YES], [UP]…) are now links — click one and the interactive panel opens with that key pulsing and its inspector card ready. About 1,900 links across the manual.
  • ·Feedback form gains a "Search found nothing / wrong results" category — real failed queries feed the retrieval test set.
  • ·Maintainer tooling: an LLM-judge QA suite for the AI tutor (npm run eval:tutor, bring-your-own-key) scoring correctness, citations, and no-invented-MIDI against a 20-question set.
变更
  • ·Baseline security hardening: strict transport and content-type headers, clickjacking protection, and a search-query length cap.

v0.12.0

2026-08-09

Knobwerk — a real name and a real home

The project moves to knobwerk.com under its new name, Knobwerk (knob + werk — gear culture, no trademarks harmed). Every page now carries proper search-engine metadata in all three languages, and old links redirect.

新增
  • ·Full SEO: per-page titles and descriptions on every route (manual sections, procedures, parameters, concepts, lessons…), canonical URLs, English/Chinese/Japanese hreflang alternates, OpenGraph cards, a ~2,900-URL sitemap, and robots.txt.
  • ·Clear non-affiliation notice in the footer in all three languages.
变更
  • ·The site is now Knobwerk at https://www.knobwerk.com — the old vercel.app address redirects permanently. "Elektron" now appears only where it describes the hardware itself.

v0.11.0

2026-07-31

Learning paths, a tutor that demonstrates, and the full concepts set

The interactive manual now teaches: guided lessons with progress tracking, an AI tutor that shows parameters on a live panel inside the chat, two new concept playgrounds (per-track scale and the 16-track signal flow), and documented manual errata surfaced right where you read.

新增
  • ·Learning paths: three guided Tonverk lessons — first pattern, sequencer movement, sound shaping — each step linking a playable procedure, a manual section, or a knob on the interactive panel, with progress kept in your browser.
  • ·The AI tutor can now demonstrate: when it explains a parameter it embeds the live panel in the chat — right track, machine, page, and knob selected — instead of describing it in words.
  • ·Concepts: a per-track LENGTH & SCALE playground (watch tracks drift apart and realign — polymeter, with only the manual's own four SCALE values) and a clickable 16-track signal-flow map (audio → bus → send FX → mixer → outputs, every arrow grounded in the routing parameters).
  • ·Errata callouts: 9 documented errors in the printed manual (swapped memorize/recall keys, reversed FADE polarity, missing minus signs…) now appear as marked notes on the 15 affected manual sections.
修复
  • ·The interactive panel no longer shifts vertically when the inspector below it grows or shrinks — the page is top-anchored now.

v0.10.1

2026-07-31

Procedure screens on the panel + beta badges

Procedure playback now renders each step's screen state inside the device's actual display — the same live screen the interactive panel uses — instead of a detached mockup below the controls. Non-Tonverk devices are marked beta at their entry points.

变更
  • ·Procedure player: the per-step screen (parameter page with the highlighted knob, or menu screens like MICRO TIMING) now appears on the panel's own display, exactly where it would be on the hardware. On phones, a readable copy still renders below the panel.
  • ·Syntakt, Digitone II, and Digitakt II are labeled beta on the device picker and the device switcher — active development currently focuses on the Tonverk.

v0.10.0

2026-07-28

Semantic search — ask in your own words, or in 中文/日本語

Manual search gains an optional semantic mode that understands meaning rather than keywords: paraphrased questions and Chinese/Japanese queries now find the right sections, procedures, and parameters. Runs entirely in your browser — no server, no account.

新增
  • ·Semantic search toggle on the search page (Tonverk): downloads a compact multilingual model once (~110 MB, cached), then fuses meaning-based rankings with keyword results locally. Chinese/Japanese queries went from unusable to finding the right procedure in the top 3 over 80% of the time on our measurement set; sections the keyword engine misses appear with a "matched by meaning" note.
  • ·The AI tutor's manual search silently upgrades to the same hybrid ranking whenever the semantic model is already loaded.
  • ·Data integrity: the semantic index carries a checksum of its source data and the validators fail loudly if they drift apart.

v0.9.1

2026-07-28

Concept playgrounds, mod-destination badges, parameters everywhere linked

Two interactive playgrounds teach parameter locks and trig conditions by doing; every knob that an LFO can modulate now says so in the panel inspector; and the parameters table links every row to the interactive panel and its procedures.

新增
  • ·Concepts page (Tonverk): a parameter-lock playground — place trigs, hold one and turn the knob to give that step its own value, then run the sequencer and watch — and a trig-condition simulator that runs four pattern cycles and shows exactly which trigs fire (FILL, PRE, 1ST, A:B conditions plus the separate PROB probability roll, reproducible by seed). Every parameter name, range, and condition comes from the compiled manual data; the demos reproduce the manual's own worked examples. Linked from Get Started.
  • ·Mod-destination badges: the panel inspector marks every parameter that Appendix B lists as an LFO/Mod-Envelope modulation destination, with availability notes. Built on a curated, fully verified mapping of all 163 Appendix-B rows — no fuzzy matching; rows the manual itself leaves ambiguous are documented rather than guessed.
  • ·Parameters table: every row now links "Show on panel" (opens the interactive panel on that knob) and the procedures that use the parameter.

v0.9.0

2026-07-28

Real search, wired to the panel

Manual search now understands multi-word and paraphrased queries instead of exact substrings, results unify sections, parameters, and procedures — and a parameter hit opens the interactive panel with the right machine assigned, the page on screen, and the knob selected.

新增
  • ·Unified search results: matching parameters and procedures appear above the section list, ranked by the same engine.
  • ·"Show on panel" on parameter hits: opens the Tonverk interactive panel pre-set to that parameter — track type and machine assigned (including the MIDI machine view), page on screen, knob slot selected, inspector populated. Settings/setup parameters open their menu screens.
变更
  • ·The search engine is a real lexical index (MiniSearch) over each section's own cleaned text: multi-word queries score per word with field boosts (titles first), common vocabulary maps to the manual's terms (p-lock, cutoff, sometimes…), quoted queries still require the exact phrase, and verb forms match via careful fuzzy rules. Measured on the golden set: paraphrased section queries went from 0% to 60% top-3 recall, procedure queries from 44% to 89%, with exact-term queries improving too.
  • ·The tutor's find_procedures and find_parameters rank with the same engine.

v0.8.1

2026-07-28

Tutor retrieval hardening

The AI tutor searches and cites the manual more reliably: search results and section reads now serve each section's own cleaned text, the tutor can walk the manual tree instead of re-searching, and citations that don't match a real section get flagged.

新增
  • ·Citation check in the tutor: section references (§x.y) in answers are verified against the device's manual index — a citation that doesn't exist gets a subtle "unverified" mark (display-only).
  • ·Manual-section reads return previous/next/subsection links so the tutor can navigate the manual tree, plus continuation offsets for long sections.
变更
  • ·Manual search results now include PDF pages, a relevance score, and snippets taken from each section's own text; hits that only matched a neighboring section's spillover are flagged. Tool payloads are capped (top-5 by default) to keep BYOK conversations lean.
修复
  • ·Reading a manual section through the tutor returned the raw page text, which bleeds into neighboring sections that share a PDF page — it now returns the section's own cleaned text.

v0.8.0

2026-07-28

Tonverk interactive panel

The Tonverk front panel becomes a live device: click keys to operate it — switch tracks, browse parameter pages, assign machines from the manual's own menus — with the screen rendered from the compiled parameter data and an inspector that links everything to procedures and manual sections.

新增
  • ·Tonverk interactive panel on the device home page: [TRK] + trig key switches between all 16 tracks, parameter-page keys and [UP]/[DOWN] cycle the TRIG/SRC/FLTR/AMP/FX/MOD pages, [FUNC] shows the second-function layer, and FUNC + [SRC]/[FX] opens the MACHINE assignment menus (Appendix A order, [YES] assigns) — including the MIDI machine flipping a track to its MIDI parameter pages. Everything on the simulated screen comes from the compiled parameter data.
  • ·Panel inspector: clicking an encoder shows the full parameter record (description, range, CC/NRPN address, manual-section link); clicking any key shows its FUNC function, the procedures that use it, and the manual sections that explain it — all clickable.
  • ·Retrieval quality baseline: a golden-query evaluation harness (npm run eval:retrieval) now measures manual search before any retrieval change lands. The baseline confirms exact terms work while paraphrased and Chinese/Japanese queries fail — the roadmap targets published in docs/RAG_PLAN.md.
修复
  • ·Syntakt MIDI control: the FLTR1 FREQ and RESO knobs now resolve to their documented CC addresses (74/75) — the manual names the appendix rows "Filter Frequency" and "Resonance", which the on-screen-name lookup missed.

v0.7.0

2026-07-10

Digitakt II: full device support

The fourth and final device of the current lineup: the Digitakt II (OS 1.15A) joins with its complete interactive manual — 124 manual sections, 252 parameters, 82 procedures with zh/ja translations, panel demos, and Web MIDI control.

新增
  • ·Digitakt II device: manual browser (124 sections), 252 parameters across all track pages, send FX/mixer pages, and every SRC/FLTR machine (ONESHOT, WERP, STRETCH, REPITCH, SLICE, GRID, MIDI; MULTI-MODE, LOWPASS 4, EQ, COMB-, COMB+, LEGACY), 82 step-by-step procedures with Simplified Chinese and Japanese translations, LFO modulation destinations, and the AI tutor.
  • ·Digitakt II panel: interactive front-panel with all 52 controls, traced from the manual's vector illustration and overlay-verified; knob slot layouts read from the manual's LCD screenshots rather than prose order.
  • ·Digitakt II MIDI control: full Appendix B coverage (144 addresses) with SRC and FLTR machine pickers. Parameter-name resolution is scoped per page to the matching appendix group, so same-named parameters (e.g. three different "Attack Time" rows) always reach the right CC/NRPN.
变更
  • ·The About page lists the Digitakt II alongside the Tonverk, Syntakt, and Digitone II (all three languages).

v0.6.3

2026-07-06

Machine pages in MIDI control for Syntakt & Digitone II

The MIDI control grid can now reach the synth-machine parameter pages on the Syntakt and Digitone II — previously only the Tonverk's machines were selectable.

修复
  • ·MIDI control: the Syntakt's SYN machine page (42 machines) and the Digitone II's SYN1–SYN4 and FLTR machine pages are now selectable from machine pickers, with every knob resolved to its data-entry-knob CC. Previously these pages never appeared because the machine selector only understood the Tonverk's page layout.
  • ·MIDI control: parameter pages now follow each device's hardware page order; the Tonverk's SETUP/SETTINGS pages sort at the end of the list instead of the front.
  • ·The About page now lists the Digitone II alongside the Tonverk and Syntakt (all three languages).

v0.6.2

2026-06-21

Mobile polish

Tidy up the header on phones and move the language picker into a compact menu.

变更
  • ·The language switcher is now a globe-icon menu instead of three inline links.
  • ·On phones, the device-section navigation collapses into a menu button and the header no longer overflows — pages render at full device width.

v0.6.1

2026-06-21

Digitone II depth

Round out the Digitone II: arpeggiator / voice / setup parameters, LFO modulation destinations in the tutor, and Chinese / Japanese Get Started pages.

新增
  • ·Digitone II arpeggiator, voice-setup, and preset-setup / portamento settings in the parameter browser (22 menu parameters).
  • ·The AI tutor can now list the Digitone II's LFO modulation destinations (Appendix D).
  • ·Chinese (中文) and Japanese (日本語) translations of the Digitone II "Get Started" guide pages.

v0.6.0

2026-06-21

Elektron Digitone II added

Add the Elektron Digitone II (OS 1.10D) as a third device — its full interactive manual, FM-aware MIDI engine, and trilingual procedures, selectable from the device picker.

新增
  • ·The Elektron Digitone II (OS 1.10D), selectable from the device picker: 130 manual sections, 167 MIDI addresses, 278 parameters, and 85 procedures — every record audited against the official manual (0 corrections).
  • ·Interactive Digitone II front panel, screen mockup, step-by-step procedure player, parameter browser, and full-text manual search.

Feedback

Add a feedback form so you can report a manual error, a bug, or a suggestion from any page.

新增
  • ·Feedback form in the "More" menu — pick a category (manual error / bug / suggestion / other), write a note, and optionally leave an email for a reply. The current device, page, and app version are attached automatically to help us locate the issue.
  • ·Submissions go to a hosted form endpoint (Formspree); no cookies, no tracking, and no account needed.

Syntakt app polish

Activate the Syntakt translations that shipped in 0.4.0, make the AI tutor speak per-device, and add visitor analytics.

新增
  • ·Privacy-friendly Vercel Web Analytics for visitor and page-view counts (no cookies, no personal data).
修复
  • ·Chinese and Japanese translations of the Syntakt procedures are now active in the app — they were compiled in 0.4.0 but not wired into the interface.
  • ·The AI tutor now describes the active device correctly: its tools reference the right manual, OS version, parameter / procedure counts, and track layout instead of always citing the Tonverk.
  • ·Tutor example prompts and the About page no longer assume the Tonverk.

Multi-device architecture

Restructure the app around devices so more Elektron manuals can be added. Tonverk content is unchanged, now served under a device path.

新增
  • ·Device picker at the language root; per-device home and pages under /[lang]/[device]/.
  • ·Device registry binding each device to its data and MIDI profile, plus a device switcher in the header.
  • ·Pipeline stages and validators take a --device flag; source PDFs now live in docs/.
变更
  • ·All Tonverk data moved under data/tonverk/; MIDI resolution is now a per-device profile (DeviceMidiProfile).
  • ·URLs moved from /[lang]/… to /[lang]/[device]/… — old links are not redirected.
